Try whiteboard FAQ
Plan your solution in a free local whiteboard. Your project stays in a folder you choose.
What is SolutionBoard Try?
A free whiteboard for planning and documenting Power Platform solutions. Arrange elements and connections, create views and subboards, and keep your project as readable Markdown files in a local folder.
Do I need an account or a subscription?
No. This release is the free Try whiteboard. Account creation, login, subscriptions, cloud projects, and online collaboration are unavailable.
How do I get started?
Open the Try whiteboard and choose Create a new project or Open a folder. Give a new project a name and choose where to save it, or open an existing SolutionBoard folder.
Where is my whiteboard stored?
The open board is kept in this browser tab's session storage. Save folder writes the project's Markdown files to a folder you choose. Unsaved browser state is not a backup: save your work before closing the tab, and back up the folder.
Are my project files uploaded?
Opening and saving a project uses your device's folder access; the project is not uploaded to a SolutionBoard account. Remote reference images are fetched through an image proxy. Hosting, optional error monitoring, and advertising can process technical information as described in Privacy and Cookies.
Which browsers support local folders?
Use a current desktop browser that supports the File System Access API, such as Chrome or Edge, to open and save folders. Your browser asks permission for folder access. Support varies across browsers and mobile devices.
How do I save or reopen my work?
Use Actions → Save folder to write to the opened folder, or Save folder as… for a copy. Reopen that folder from the project explorer. When another tool changes it on disk, review the notice and reload before overwriting your own changes.
Can I edit properties and track requirements?
Double-click an element to open its editor. Edit its properties, links, applicable schema fields, and requirements. Beside requirement search, Add new opens a form with a name, status, and optional DevOps work item URL. Save commits the element changes to the board; Save folder writes them to disk.
Can I use views, subboards, and exports?
Yes. Create views and subboards, connect elements, navigate linked views, and export a board image or local project folder using the whiteboard controls. Sharing a local view link does not upload the folder; the recipient needs the corresponding project files.
Why might I see advertisements?
The free whiteboard includes Google AdSense integration. Ads appear only when enabled and configured, and when the screen has room for a separate ad rail. Ads do not cover the canvas. You can close the ad card and use Privacy and cookie settings to revisit Google's available consent choices.
How can I manage cookies and privacy?
Read the Privacy Policy and Cookie Notice linked below and in the whiteboard. When Google's consent message is available, Privacy and cookie settings reopens it. Browser folder-permission dialogs are required to access your local files.
